Her Interview

Ten minutes with Marianela

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to velocity, tenacity, and optimism. As the first in my family to attend college, I learned valuable lessons from the women around me. I also embrace uncertainty, allowing myself the freedom to navigate challenges with confidence and an open mind.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I attribute much of my professional growth to the guidance and encouragement of my mentor, Janet Rivera Hernandez. Her support has helped me navigate different industries, career opportunities, and transitions with greater confidence. Her influence has reinforced the importance of building meaningful professional relationships, embracing opportunities, and supporting other women by sharing my experiences and lessons learned.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to ask themselves whether they would regret not trying something five or ten years from now. Remember that done is better than perfect, so embrace opportunities, become comfortable with visibility, and don't let fear hold you back. Also, view AI as a tool to embrace and leverage to enhance your work and professional growth.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is that startups often have limited budgets for consulting services. Working independently also requires me to quickly develop expertise across multiple areas. I view rejection as redirection and an opportunity to learn, adapt, and discover new paths for growth.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value authenticity and staying true to myself in both my professional and personal life. I also believe in embracing uncertainty with excitement and curiosity, allowing myself the freedom to explore new possibilities and welcome whatever comes next.
