Her Story
About Marian
I've been a marketing person my whole life, always looking for new ideas, new concepts, and market opportunities across different kinds of markets. I graduated from college with a degree in marketing and worked at L'Oreal, where I earned certifications in skincare and hair color. After that, I started my own company as an event planner, and we were very successful doing golf tournaments and concerts. Now I work as a consultant helping Latin American companies navigate through the United States government. What drives me is helping Latin America with what's happening with this government, so if I can help my people, I will. I'm trying to find gaps in Latin America that can help them navigate in the States, whether that's the avocados industry in Mexico or the flowers industry in Colombia. I'm also starting another business representing a fashion factory in Asia to help them find clients in Mexico, because right now doing all the clothes and manufacturing in Mexico has been very complicated for some people. This factory has their own factories in India and China. I work from home, which gives me flexibility as a mom to two girls, one is 3 and the other is 5. I speak Spanish and know the market, which helps me make these connections.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
What drives me is to help Latin America with what's happening with this government. If I can help my people, I will. That's what drives me right now, to try to connect them. Mexico is not a very common thing, so that's why I'm reaching out and trying to let them know that they can have help. I want to help them understand better, or help them know what's going on here, or with information, or whatever. I try to find people that may need help to navigate the state's government, whether that's the avocados industry that needs help in Mexico, or the flowers industry that needs help in Colombia.
