Marianna Terenzio serves as a Senior Producer in film and ad production. She has been in the field since 2015 after moving to New York City from Brazil, where she previously worked in advertising. Marianna earned a degree in screenwriting for film from the New York Film Academy in 2015 and later completed a film production workshop there. She thrives in overall operations, owning projects from budget and timeline management to client well-being and delegation to meet deadlines. Her notable achievement includes producing a short film that premiered at the Austin Film Festival. Marianna is known for her organization and friendly high-energy approach, choosing to remain true to her personality rather than adopting a tougher demeanor. She attributes her success to her parents' support, her faith, organizational skills, and being nice to everyone. Marianna advises young women entering the industry to be nice, know they belong in every room, and not fear changes in this fast-evolving field. She identifies AI as a current challenge but sees opportunity for greater investment in human artists and independent creators.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my parents who have been extremely supportive especially moving abroad, we talk every day. I am a woman of faith so God is everything. My organization skills have made me go really far. Being nice and friendly helps because everybody will want to have you around.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If you don't ask for it, you're not gonna get it. You have to ask for things like help, promotion, more rights within your profession. Things don't magically happen.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be nice. Know that you belong in every room and your opinion matters. Don't be afraid of changes. It's a fast-changing industry so roll with it or change the place where you're at so you can arrive at the place where you want to be.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is definitely a challenge, capable of creating content with the push of a button, taking over and concerning the film industry. But there's opportunity for brands and investors to invest more in humans and independent artists, giving them bigger platforms and budgets to fight against AI. Consumers will search for more human approach to entertainment.
