Her Story

About Maribeth

Maribeth Charles, MBA, is a business professional, corporate investigator, and management consultant whose career spans corporate investigations, financial services, operations, and the automotive industry. She currently serves as a Sales Consultant at AutoNation, drawing on a diverse background in project management, financial analysis, sales, logistics, and organizational leadership. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Business Administration in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from Norwich University, equipping her with a strong foundation in both business strategy and operational excellence. Before transitioning into consulting and management, Maribeth built an extraordinary 17-year career as a Special Operations Corporate Investigator specializing in financial crimes, fraud, corruption, workplace misconduct, and behavioral profiling. Working in deep-cover assignments while maintaining legitimate employment, she investigated complex cases involving corporate fraud, discrimination, and organizational misconduct, earning a reputation for identifying behavioral patterns, connecting seemingly unrelated incidents, and resolving high-risk cases before they escalated. Following a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 2015, she stepped away from full-time investigative work but continues to contribute her expertise through select pro bono investigations and advisory work, remaining committed to advancing justice, ethics, and organizational accountability. With TBI, she graduated the Police Academy at Houston Community College in 2016, tied for third in her class with a 98/100 on Penal Code and overall TCOLE score of 89/100 defeating more odds. Throughout her career, Maribeth has demonstrated exceptional resilience, transforming profound personal adversity into a lifelong mission of protecting others and advocating for truth. Her professional philosophy is rooted in integrity, courage, accountability, and compassion, values that continue to guide her work in consulting, special investigations, and leadership. Whether improving business operations, mentoring professionals, or uncovering complex organizational issues, she is recognized for combining analytical expertise with a steadfast commitment to ethical leadership, helping organizations and individuals navigate challenges with confidence. Last but not least, she remains undefeated in all of her cases.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Maribeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith and my lifelong commitment to seeking the truth. Since I was young, I have been driven by curiosity, strong values, and a desire to do what is right. My faith keeps me grounded, and I believe in showing compassion while holding firm to accountability and integrity.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always remain truthful, trust my instincts, and never compromise my integrity. Having the courage to do what is right—even when it is difficult—is the foundation of lasting success. The first oath I took at age 17 was “to seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth even if it costs me my own life.” This is a lifetime oath I serve out every day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to find your voice, speak with confidence, and stay true to your values. Don’t be quick to judge or follow the crowd. Stand your ground, think independently, and have the courage to take a different path when you believe it is the right one.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is detecting sophisticated fraud and misconduct before it causes widespread harm, as financial crimes continue to grow more complex. At the same time, advances in behavioral analysis, investigative techniques, and organizational accountability present valuable opportunities to strengthen corporate ethics and better protect both employees and organizations.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, truth, justice, courage, compassion, accountability, resilience, and service to others. These principles guide my decisions, shape how I lead, and inspire me to make a positive impact while upholding the highest ethical standards.
