Maricela “Mari” Bazan is an experienced Account Executive at Proper Title LLC, based in Chicago, where she helps clients navigate the real estate and title insurance industry. A Chicago native, Maricela brings over 31 years of experience to her role, including more than 21 years with a respected local underwriter. Throughout her career, she has gained expertise across multiple departments in several esteemed title companies, developing a strong foundation in customer service, document management, and client relations.
Known for her people-first approach, Maricela thrives on building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. She takes pride in delivering exceptional service and approaches every task with enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. I attribute my success to the incredible colleagues and mentors who have shaped my growth, along with my genuine passion for helping others and building lasting relationships. I bring enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to excellence into everything I do.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career and life advice I received was to always be myself and to never be afraid of CHANGE.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to develop thick skin, know your value, and stay passionate about the work you do.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is going out there and speaking of how I can make a difference from the last experience or interaction with a customer from their last experience which might not have been too great or positive. There are many competitors out there.
The opportunities I have is that now I have the ability to be our Attorney Agents/Lenders and Brokers go to person. I am the Sales Representative and can make some decisions within the departments. My last place of employment was as a Customer Service Representative.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I have many values both in life and work. In both my personal and work life 3 of my most important values are to 1. Treat others how you would like to be treated. 2. Be mindful of people's time and 3. Be Honest.
