About Maricela
Maricela Giner is a licensed professional counselor who has been in the mental health field for 10 years. She began her career with Health and Human Services, facilitating family team meetings for Child Protective Services after earning her bachelor's in psychology, which inspired her passion for therapy to help clients at a deeper level. She progressed through leadership positions as lead therapist, clinic program manager, and director of clinical services before opening her private practice in June, where she focuses on building a reasonable caseload to maintain work-life balance and prevent burnout. Giner also teaches as adjunct faculty at the University of Texas at El Paso on legal and ethical issues in mental health counseling. As an LPC supervisor, she currently oversees three associates and aims to support emerging supervisors. Her training includes an 18-month dialectical behavioral therapy course through the Marsha Linehan Institute and EMDR certification, which she is renewing through continuing education.
