About Marie

Marie Natrall is a Canadian First Nation individual from the Squamish Nation in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and also of Northern Tutchone heritage. With approximately 20 years of experience in social services, she has worked across federal, tribal, state, and nonprofit sectors, as well as in faculty teaching roles. She is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada. Marie earned her Associate of Arts degree prior to 2003, Bachelor of Arts in 2010, Master of Public Administration in 2012, and Doctor of Public Administration in 2019, walking the stage in Tampa, Florida, in January 2020. In her current role, she serves Squamish Nation members by addressing day-to-day emergencies such as food, rent, and utilities needs, providing justice services, hospital outreach, one-on-one support, funeral planning and expenses, and running an elders program for socialization and support. Previously, while with the Washington State Behavioral Health Administration, she developed the first cultural competency policy for that administration in 2022. She has also created and delivered a presentation on generational trauma, incorporating her family history and the impacts of boarding schools, which she presented to an audience of 500 to 600 people at a dual diagnosis conference in Washington State in 2023. Marie aspires to roles such as executive director, CEO, president, or vice president.
