About Marie
My career journey has been really diverse. I graduated from university 8 years ago as a communications major, and I didn't really know what I was going to do - all I knew was that I liked doing social media. My first job post-grad was working at a non-profit for working with Holocaust survivors, doing all their social media and planning all their speaking engagements at schools, universities, and companies. Then I took a hiatus and went to Spain for 2 years where I taught English. When I came back to the States, I worked for a creative agency with clients like Smorgasburg in New York City and Brooklyn, where I did hype videos showcasing different vendors, interviews, and created as much content as possible. I also worked for the Brooklyn Flea Market and the Chelsea Flea Market, and did some consumer packaged goods work with rings and beverages. That was all part-time and helped me build a very strong portfolio. Prior to working at Manfredi, I didn't have any luxury experience at all, so there really was no reason for them to hire me - they could have hired someone that was in luxury retail before. But they really liked my videos and my editing style, so I landed the role here almost 2 years ago. I'm a first generation child of immigrant parents, so I don't have the connections - I had to find my own resources and figure things out on my own. I've been on YouTube since I was young, and I learned how to use Final Cut Pro by a young age. I've had 2 mentors along the way who have helped me - the interior designer I worked for from Columbia who now owns a thriving interior design studio with high-profile billionaire clients, and Zafina at Manfredi, who is probably the lead salesperson on the East Coast and took me under her wing.
