Marilee Stang

Marilee Stang is a writer who self-published a book inspired by her year living in China teaching English as a foreign language. In high school at Avon High School she wrote for the student newspaper and always felt she could write but pursued other paths including marriage in 1965 and office work. After her divorce she returned to school earning a master's degree at Ursulin College in art therapy and later worked at a nursing home and as a phone representative for Arts Marketing raising funds for the orchestra. Her time in China proved life-changing as she learned some of the language and connected with the culture which prompted her to finally pursue writing. She saved for five years on social security and gifts to self-publish her book and is now promoting it through TikTok and Facebook advertising while working on a second book.
