I attribute my success to my father. His example and guidance instilled in me the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance that continue to drive me in my career every day.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “Your network is your net worth.” Building strong relationships and connecting with others has been essential to my growth, opening doors to opportunities and providing guidance throughout my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For young women entering the medical device sales field—especially within VA mental health programs—it's crucial to build a strong support network and seek mentorship, embrace lifelong learning and professional development, and advocate for yourself and others in the workplace. Prioritize self-care to prevent burnout, foster diversity and inclusion, and look to female role models for inspiration. Be curious, collaborative, and adaptable given healthcare’s constant changes, and focus on developing clear, professional communication skills. Above all, always maintain your integrity and commitment to patient care, speaking up for ethical practices and supporting both colleagues and the veterans you serve.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is navigating the impact of politics. Staying informed and adaptable allows me to turn political shifts into opportunities for growth, advocacy, and meaningful impact.
