Marilyn Prada, CCM, is an accomplished Employee Benefits Senior Account Representative at USI Insurance Services, based in Falls Church, Virginia. In her current role, she manages the implementation of new group benefit plans, maintains a personal book of business, responds to client and employee inquiries, and oversees updates to benefits materials and guides. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and client-focused approach, Marilyn ensures seamless administration of employee benefits while supporting the diverse needs of her clients across the DMV area. Marilyn’s career in the insurance industry began immediately after high school in an administrative role, where she provided administration support for open enrollments. Within months, she earned her insurance license and advanced into new business analysis for employee benefits. She later expanded her experience in the retirement field through remote work before returning to employee benefits in a senior capacity. Throughout her career, Marilyn has demonstrated a strong work ethic, perseverance, and a commitment to professional growth, earning her Certified Case Manager (CCM) credential along the way. Outside of work, Marilyn is an avid runner and community advocate, participating in monthly 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons to support nonprofit organizations, including Bishop Events and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She balances her professional and personal life with a love for discovering local events, cultural activities, and outdoor adventures. Marilyn attributes her success to gratitude, hard work, and embracing every opportunity, inspiring others—especially young women—to persevere, seize opportunities, and make their mark in the workplace.

What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to a strong sense of gratitude. I was fortunate to receive opportunities early in my career that enabled me to gain experience and momentum after high school. I remain mindful that these opportunities are not equally available to everyone, and I am grateful for the support systems that helped me move forward.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to never back down. Face obstacles with determination, even when guidance is limited, and always strive to do your best. Consistently showing up and improving your skills will not go unnoticed—persistence and dedication are always recognized and rewarded.
