About Marilyn
Visual artist based in Wisconsin with decades of professional practice. Extensive teaching background as adjunct faculty at Columbia College Chicago (2002–2018), teaching Photoshop, Illustrator, drawing, 2D design, printmaking/artist books, and advanced color theory, and at Carthage College (2016–2019), teaching papermaking, color theory, and 2D design fundamentals. Also served as Interim Coordinator of Exhibitions and Programs at Columbia College Chicago’s Center for Book and Paper Arts, managing gallery exhibitions, installations, budgets, documentation, and marketing/PR. Previously taught painting, figure drawing, and color theory at Evanston Art Center (1990–2007). Holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA from the University of Missouri–Kansas City in Art and Art History.
