About Marina

I'm originally from Valencia, Spain, where I studied audiovisual communication at Valencian University and also spent a year at the DAMS Cinema program in Bologna, Italy, which is one of the oldest universities and has a very interesting film program. I started my career with an internship at a production company in Valencia, and from that internship job, I was able to get an assistance job, then I became the head of production of that production company. We were doing a very successful TV show in the Valencia public TV station, and we were going to adapt it to a European market. For that, the head of production needed to have good English, so I decided to move to New York to learn English. My idea was to come back to Valencia and continue with that path, but when I arrived in New York, my personal life switched - I met who was later my husband, so I stayed. I continued in independent filmmaking in New York, and while I was sorting out my visa situation, I was also working in a TV station in the Balearic Islands. I went deep in depth with branded content and the film industry, doing fiction and documentary. I started my current position as senior producer at Branded Content Assist Studios for Univision in New York over three years ago. Because our team was a small team in New York and our results were good, we merged with the team in Miami, and that's when I decided to explore the Floridian life. I've been here for more than a year, and I really appreciate the Latin culture, the beautiful weather, and how Miami is becoming more culturally oriented. I'm very proud of being co-producer of 'Son of Monarchs,' an independent film we did in New York with such a small budget that ended up going to Sundance and being acquired by HBO. I also have a production company and am currently developing a project with a Spanish company for a feature film.
