About Marisa
Marisa Tice brings over two decades of experience in life sciences, with her most recent role in health system strategic account management. In this position, she worked to increase patient screenings for various cancers at the health system level by identifying unmet needs, improving communication, and creating urgency around follow-up care. Her efforts included managing workflows, IT systems, Epic workflows, and some AI applications, all aimed at reducing the cancer burden across the Southeast. Tice graduated from the University of Alabama and has pursued numerous certifications in the healthcare industry to stay current with the evolving payer access market. She attributes her success to leaning in even when feeling inadequate, maintaining a diverse network of mentors, and her faith. Tice advises professionals to excel in their current role rather than focusing solely on the next opportunity. Outside her career, she is passionate about physical exercise, faith-based relationships, and community involvement with groups such as the American Cancer Society, Madison County Medical Society, physicians of Indian descent, and Hospice of North Alabama.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Marisa
01What do you attribute your success to?
Leaning in when you don't always feel adequate, keeping mentors of all different types of roles around you, not necessarily just your upper leadership role, and my faith.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do the job you have today well. So many people throughout their career are focused on the next thing, but just doing the role that you have now sets you up for success to be the obvious choice in the future.
