Her Story

About Marissa

Marissa has always been drawn to people. How they think, what they need, and what helps them move forward.

Long before she stepped into the world of fintech and transportation, she was the person others trusted to solve problems, translate complexity, and bring clarity to chaotic moments. That instinct became the through‑line of her career.

Her professional journey didn’t follow a straight line; it followed her curiosity.

She explored healthcare sales, regenerative medical technologies, franchise operations, and national sales recruiting.

Each chapter adding a new layer to her understanding of how people and businesses grow.

Along the way, she discovered a talent for connecting dots others didn’t see: the gap between what a business struggles with and the solution that could change everything.

That insight eventually led her into the transportation and logistics space, where she found her stride.

Today, Marissa works at the intersection of finance, fuel, and technology, helping carriers operate more efficiently and sustainably.

She’s known for her ability to take something as complex as factoring or TMS integrations and make it feel simple, human, and actionable.

Clients trust her because she listens first, advises second, and always leads with integrity.

What motivates her isn’t just closing deals.... it’s watching a business owner breathe easier because someone finally understood what they were up against. It’s seeing a carrier grow because they had the right partner in their corner. It’s knowing she made someone’s day, job, or journey a little smoother.

Outside of work, Marissa is grounded by the same values that guide her professionally: connection, curiosity, and purpose. She’s someone who believes in building a life that feels meaningful.... one conversation, one relationship, one opportunity at a time.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Marissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a mix of resilience, curiosity, and connection. The three things that have shaped every chapter of my life and career.

I’ve never been afraid to start somewhere new or step into an industry I didn’t fully understand yet. That curiosity has pushed me to learn fast, ask better questions, and stay adaptable in environments where things change quickly. Resilience kept me moving when the path wasn’t linear, and it taught me how to turn setbacks into fuel instead of roadblocks.

But more than anything, I credit my success to the relationships I’ve built. I genuinely care about people, their challenges, their goals, their stories;  that’s helped me create trust, solve problems with empathy, and show up as a partner instead of just a professional. When people feel understood, everything else becomes easier.

So in the simplest terms: I’ve succeeded because I stay curious, I stay grounded, and I stay connected.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was this: “Don’t chase titles...chase environments that make you better.”

It shifted everything for me. It taught me to pay attention to the rooms I was in, the people I was learning from, and whether the work actually aligned with who I wanted to become.

Every time I’ve chosen growth over ego, curiosity over comfort, and alignment over appearance, my career has moved forward in ways I couldn’t have planned.

It reminded me that success isn’t about climbing the fastest ladder; it’s about choosing the right one.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I always share with young women entering this industry is simple: stay level‑headed through the highs and the lows. Sales can be fast‑moving and unpredictable. Some days you’ll feel unstoppable, and other days you’ll wonder if you’re even in the right place. Both are normal.

What matters is how you carry yourself in the in‑between. I’ve learned that confidence isn’t built during the wins; it’s built in the moments when things don’t go your way and you choose to keep showing up.

Don’t let the highs inflate you or the lows define you. Stay grounded, stay curious, and stay focused on the long game.

And remember: you don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room to be the most impactful.

Your consistency, your integrity, and your ability to stay composed under pressure will take you further than you think.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Right now, the biggest challenge in my field is also the biggest opportunity: the industry is evolving faster than many people are prepared for.

Transportation, fintech, and factoring are all being reshaped by technology, tighter margins, and shifting customer expectations. That creates pressure, but it also creates room for people who can navigate change with clarity.

One major challenge is the increasing complexity carriers face. Between rising costs, compliance demands, and the need for better cash‑flow tools, a lot of businesses feel overwhelmed. But that’s exactly where the opportunity lies.

Companies that can simplify processes, integrate smarter technology, and provide real partnership, not just products, are the ones that will stand out.

Another challenge is trust.

This industry has seen its share of bad actors, and carriers are more cautious than ever. But for those of us who lead with transparency and consistency, that caution becomes an advantage. When you show up with integrity, you become the person people rely on.

And finally, there’s a huge opportunity in education. Most carriers don’t have time to research every tool or financial option available to them. If you can break things down clearly, help them understand their choices, and guide them toward better decisions, you become invaluable.

So in my view, the landscape is shifting, but it’s shifting in favor of people who stay grounded, stay informed, and stay committed to helping others succeed.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are connection, integrity, curiosity, and purpose.

I’ve always been drawn to understanding people; how they think, what they need, and what helps them move forward. That naturally shapes how I show up in my work.

I lead with connection first, because I believe the best outcomes come from truly listening and building trust, not just selling a solution.

Integrity is a non-negotiable for me. I take a consultative approach; listening first, advising second, and guiding clients toward what genuinely helps them.

I’m focused on building long-term relationships, not just short-term wins. I also value curiosity and growth.

My career path has been intentionally diverse, and each experience has deepened my ability to understand business challenges and connect the right solutions.

It allows me to simplify complexity and create clarity where it’s needed most.

Ultimately, I’m driven by purpose and impact. What motivates me most is helping people feel understood and helping businesses operate more effectively.

In my personal life, those same values show up in how I build relationships and stay present; approaching life with intention, one conversation and connection at a time.
