Her Story

About Marissa

Marissa Guasp serves as Firm Operations Lead for the law group, a role created to leverage her operational expertise after she began at a sister compliance company. She started her career path with billing experience at the University of Connecticut Bursar's office before joining the company in accounting, where she advanced from administrative assistant to accounting specialist. In her current position, which she assumed on April 1 after nearly three years with the organization, Guasp manages a wide range of responsibilities including financial and productivity reporting to inform leadership on realization rates, utilization, and AR, along with supporting IT initiatives, organizing standard operating procedures, facilitating team meetings under the Entrepreneurial Operating System, and reducing administrative burdens for attorneys so they can focus on billable work. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a major in Applied and Resource Economics, she earned summa cum laude honors from high school and participated in the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. Guasp attributes much of her professional growth to her curiosity and habit of asking questions, which helped her build institutional knowledge and take ownership of processes, and she advises young women entering the field to speak up confidently regardless of age, gender, or educational background.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to speak up and share your opinion. I feel like part of the reasons why I got this position is because I was not afraid to, but I just kind of like did it anyway. My willingness to speak up and share my perspective has only benefited my career and has made me a valued employee because I'm not afraid to share my honest opinion. Have confidence in yourself and your perspective no matter your educational background, the age, the gender of whoever's in the room.
