Her Story

About Marissa

Dr. Marissa Molinar is a multidisciplinary professional with a PhD in anthropology specializing in archaeology, particularly rock art, petroglyphs, comparative art analysis, and the theory of behavior and visual communication. She earned her master's degree from the Institute of Archaeology in London and completed her doctorate in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, after which she returned to education, teaching public school where she developed strong pedagogy skills and reached diverse learners including those with ADHD. Marissa later transitioned into AI prompt design and education, recruited as a senior writer and expert for training AI models, where she focuses on ethical, human-centered approaches and collaborates creatively with the technology. As a first-generation American whose parents immigrated from Panama, an artist who loves photography, and someone who identifies as ADHD with a PhD, she attributes her drive to her mother's immigrant ambition and her own fascination since third grade with pre-conquest histories and deep ancient mysteries. Her contributions aim to remind others of the cool and positive aspects of humanity rather than solely its challenges.

01What do you attribute your success to?

Genetically, my mom as an immigrant had a lot of drive. I am more like my dad, we are winging it. From a young age in third grade I knew I was different and wanted to know the stories before conquest and colonialism in history classes. I am interested in deep ancient mysteries and the evolution of abstract behavior and thinking. I am a bad repurposer and transformative, I love photography and I am easily amused and stoked because otherwise the world would crush me. My contribution is to remind us of the cool things about humanity not just all our bad stuff.
