Maritza Quinn serves as Senior Account Manager in the healthcare industry, where she has worked for 19 years. She manages multiple health plans on behalf of a large group of DME providers, functioning as an IPA-like liaison to ensure smooth operations for members, claims, and related processes. Quinn meets regularly with health plan care managers and claims teams to address member needs, resolve systemic issues, and implement workflow efficiencies. She acts as a bridge across departments to accelerate solutions and prioritizes member well-being above all, focusing on the delivery of essential equipment such as oxygen, wound care supplies, and mobility aids that enable individuals to live at home. Quinn values persistence in addressing complex systems piece by piece and stresses that collaboration and every role contribute meaningfully to positive outcomes for those in need.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Sometimes we have to take with the plan, we may want to fix like everything, but everything didn't get broken in one day. Sometimes we just gotta be persistent and kind of work on things piece by piece, and a little change and a little movement in the right direction is better than no movement and stagnation. Everybody's role counts. I need four different departments at that payer plan sometimes to get something done, and even if you think it's so, you know, you're just looking at a spreadsheet, you're just doing something small, each person plays a role in someone getting something that they need. So just don't discount like some of the stuff you're doing behind the scenes. Collaboration is so important.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get really integrated in your field and become an expert. We have to work a little bit harder. One challenge I've seen for women is finding that balance between being respected and still being ourselves. You can be compassionate and relational and still be very direct, knowledgeable, and confident. You can still be strong. You can still really have that boldness about you while maintaining that compassion and heart for whatever you're doing.
