With nearly 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Maritza has built an impressive career through dedication, continuous learning, and a passion for leadership. She began her journey in 2006 as a sales assistant at Wesco Aircraft, supporting sales representatives with customer service, reporting, and order management. Over the next 18 years, she steadily advanced through increasingly responsible leadership roles, ultimately serving as Director of Sales, where she managed teams of up to 20 professionals, oversaw major customer accounts and contracts, and consistently exceeded sales and growth objectives through strategic planning and operational excellence.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Discipline has played a very important role. I like to step outside of the box when necessary but most of the time do everything right. I collaborate with important parties and inform myself by learning every day, applied both at work and in personal life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Come in knowing it is a tough industry but very possible to learn and work in it. Be confident, have willpower to navigate it, stand out with confidence, absorb what you are doing and do it right.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Aerospace is a male-dominant industry. Opportunities are opening up more than 20 years ago, but lack of belief from big players in women still makes things challenging.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is at the very top of my list. Trying your very best to do things right, good work ethic, stay out of trouble, avoid toxic environments and rumors.
