With 21 years in the respiratory care field and 20 years at Yale, she began her career as a bedside respiratory therapist after earning a bachelor's degree in respiratory care. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the mentors and leaders who have helped me along the way and given me space to grow, as well as being patient-centered in my approach, always willing to explore new ways to help patients rather than saying no immediately.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is that if you're doing what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. You need to love what you do to make it sustainable, and if you don't, it's okay to pivot.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being present and intentional, whether at work or at home with family. When at work be present at work, when at home be present at home, and be purposeful in taking time to relax and recharge.
