Ten minutes with Markeshia
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always remain professional, no matter what the situation is. And to ensure that you play your part to make a difference in your workplace, and to keep it a positive atmosphere.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always have an outlet outside of your career field for stressful days. Learn how people operate, especially since psychology is part of most degrees in this field. Get really good at people skills to navigate any scenario because you can't make everyone happy in HR.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Disappointment when you can't get something done right away, having to send certified or confidential mail to headquarters for more information, and delays in people getting benefits.
