Marla Regan
Marla Regan is a productivity specialist, professional organizer, author, and speaker with nearly three decades of experience helping individuals and families take control of their time and environments. She founded her business, Organized Time, in 1997 on her 35th birthday after being inspired by professional organizers featured in Home Computing Magazine. At the time, she was working as a school secretary, where organization was already central to her role. Following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force and a move back to her hometown in Louisiana, she turned her natural skills and passion into a full-time business that continues to serve clients today.
After relocating to Houston, Marla quickly became involved with the National Association of Professional Organizers, where she built strong professional connections and later had the opportunity to speak at a national conference. Over the years, she has evolved her work from hands-on organizing to a broader focus on productivity, planning, and time management. As a Full Focus Certified Pro and Certified Productivity Coach, she now helps clients align their daily actions with their goals, evaluate how they spend their time, and build practical systems that support long-term success. She is also a #1 bestselling author of Time Habits and the creator of planners and journals designed to help individuals stay focused and intentional.
A seasoned speaker of over 40 years, Marla has inspired audiences through women’s groups, churches, and professional organizations, sharing practical strategies grounded in faith, integrity, and real-life application. While in-person opportunities slowed in recent years, she is now focused on expanding her reach to larger stages, with aspirations such as speaking on a TEDx platform. Passionate about helping others live with purpose and clarity, Marla continues to empower her clients and audiences to simplify their lives, strengthen their habits, and make wise, intentional use of their time.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being a lifelong planner who believes in building and using practical systems and forms. Organization and productivity have always been a passion of mine, and I’ve consistently applied that passion to both my personal and professional life. At the core of everything I do are my values—faith, family, and integrity—which guide my decisions, shape my work, and keep me grounded.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to develop a system that you know, trust, and use consistently. Create forms and processes that truly work for you, and then be able to confidently communicate how and why they work. Confidence in your approach is key. I also encourage leveraging accountability—whether through memberships, groups, or partnerships—because having support can make a significant difference in both consistency and growth.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges has been the shift away from in-person opportunities since 2020, especially in speaking and client engagement, as many have transitioned to virtual platforms. However, with that shift comes opportunity. There is now greater access to wider audiences through online platforms, self-publishing, and digital products. Personally, I’m excited about pursuing larger stages, including opportunities like TEDx, while continuing to expand my product offerings such as planners and journals and growing online membership communities.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and my personal life are faith, family, and integrity. My faith provides my foundation, my family gives me purpose and perspective, and integrity ensures that everything I do is aligned with who I am and what I believe. These values influence how I serve my clients, how I build my business, and how I live each day.
