Ten minutes with Marli
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There's no such thing as the wrong time. Even if something's happening early, it could be a big pivotal point. The best time to start something is now. Analysis paralysis is a real thing.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Build connection and community. Create something meaningful. As long as you're happy and uplifting yourself and other women alongside you, then there will be success.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges: Extracurricular music/arts not seen as requirement; need to ensure client commitment and accept when not a fit without pushing sales. Opportunities: Music as art/therapy/joy leads to passion projects, new clients, showcases, community events, songwriting, streaming, collaborations.
