Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my educational background in electronic technology and the extensive experience I gained working in semiconductor manufacturing, particularly my 8 years at Intel Corporation. At Intel, I learned about clean room protocols and the importance of maintaining integrity in a controlled environment, which taught me discipline and attention to detail. I also developed strong skills in coordination, project management, and working with people during my time in manufacturing, where I took on management and lead roles. When I transitioned to telecom in 2007, I was able to apply all of those skills. I discovered that I'm really good at coordinating and getting people to accomplish things when I need them to. It's about the way you approach people and projects, how you schedule things, and how you build relationships by getting stuff done for others so they'll get stuff done for you. I've also focused on learning the telecom industry inside and out, and I've built a strong reputation within the tight-knit telecom community over the years. People know my work quality and I've been requested for specific jobs because of that reputation.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If I could offer advice to young women entering this industry, I would emphasize the importance of being proactive and fully engaged in your work. Take the time to understand the projects you are involved in and stay on top of your responsibilities. Communication is critical—don’t hesitate to ask questions when you’re unsure, and make sure to share updates regularly with your team. Anticipate what needs to be done and keep others informed before they have to ask. Success in this field comes from taking ownership, being proactive, and ensuring that everyone is aligned and aware of progress at all times.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is the rapid pace of technological change. Projects, standards, and priorities can shift quickly, which requires continuous learning and the ability to adapt processes on the fly. Success depends on staying agile, mobilizing the right people efficiently, and ensuring that procedures evolve alongside new technologies. Embracing this dynamic environment presents opportunities to innovate and drive meaningful impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life include clear communication, prioritizing safety, maintaining integrity—especially in protecting proprietary information—building strong relationships, and committing to continuous learning. I also have a strong interest in giving back and engaging with the community, which I’ve done through volunteering with 4‑H and agricultural programs alongside my daughter. These experiences reinforce my belief in collaboration, mentorship, and lifelong growth, both professionally and personally.
