Marlo Yvonne is a Talent Innovation Leader, Human-AI Systems Strategist, and top-rated Career Coach reshaping how organizations and professionals navigate the future of work. With over 15 years of experience spanning HRIS, talent development, and organizational consulting, Marlo specializes in the “messy middle”—the complex space between legacy systems and modern, AI-powered ecosystems. As the founder of The Mustard Seed Project, she has built a thriving six-figure consultancy that empowers individuals and companies to design people systems rooted in clarity, equity, and human-centered strategy.

A systems thinker at heart, Marlo has led transformative initiatives across technology, R&D, entertainment, agriculture, retail, and wellness industries. Her work includes redesigning performance frameworks, embedding ethical AI into learning programs, optimizing HR technology, and building high-impact talent pipelines. Through her coaching practice, she has helped hundreds of professionals break plateaus, negotiate significant salary increases, and transition into purpose-driven careers—often with measurable outcomes such as 70%+ increases in interview rates, 45–50% boosts in negotiation success, and 85% placement into aligned roles. She also serves as a Career Coach and AI-Driven Talent Strategist for JobTest.org, where she leads innovative coaching programs tailored for neurodivergent and career-transitioning professionals.

Beyond her professional expertise, Marlo is a passionate advocate for inclusive talent development and meaningful work. She is the creator and host of the Move Your Mountains podcast, where she blends systems thinking with practical guidance to help listeners navigate bold career and life transitions. When she’s not coaching or designing human-AI ecosystems, Marlo can be found wrangling her two pugs, Penelope and Phoebe, or keeping up with her spirited nine-year-old daughter. Grounded in purpose and driven by impact, Marlo’s mission is simple: make work more human—and the future more accessible for everyone.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to God. My faith grounds me, guides my decisions, and gives me the strength and clarity I need to lead, grow, and serve with purpose.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to listen more than I speak. It taught me that real leadership begins with understanding—whether I’m guiding a client, supporting a team, or navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I’d give to young women entering this industry is to think deeply about the problems you want to solve and how you want to be perceived. Clarity on your purpose and presence will guide your decisions far more effectively than any job title or trend.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Right now, one of the biggest opportunities in my field is the strength and fluidity of the job market—there are more pathways, emerging roles, and cross-industry transitions available than ever before. The biggest challenge, however, is helping people understand and adapt to the pace of change. Many professionals are still navigating outdated assumptions about work, and part of my role is guiding them through this new landscape with clarity and confidence.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity is the value that anchors everything I do, both in my work and in my personal life. I believe people deserve honesty, transparency, and real connection—whether I’m coaching a client, leading a team, or raising my daughter.
