About Marsha

Marsha Sesay is the Administrative Director of Professional Practice and Clinical Education at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, serving the Adult Ambulatory Division in Nashville, Tennessee. With over 31 years in healthcare, she began her career in an entry-level CNT position and progressed through roles as a licensed practical nurse and registered nurse. In her current position, Marsha directs the Magnet program for adult ambulatory services, oversees a team of nursing education specialists supporting more than 450 clinics, and leads the clinical ladder program aligned with ANCC Magnet frameworks to support professional development and retention. She earned her master's degree in nursing leadership in 2022 and anticipates completing her doctorate in Executive Nursing and Leadership in 2027. Marsha is an honoree with the American Organization of Nurse Leaders as an emerging professional voice and maintains memberships in Tau Eta Phi, Sigma Theta Tau, and AONL. She also contributes to the steering committee for the My Beautiful nonprofit, which mentors girls ages 13 to 18.
