Marta Gutierrez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 15 years of experience supporting children and families across home, school, and clinical settings. As the founder of Marta Gutierrez, PA, she specializes in behavior assessment, intervention planning, and educational collaboration, with a particular focus on Individualized Education Program (IEP) advocacy. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is passionate about empowering families by helping them better understand their children's unique needs while ensuring they receive meaningful support within educational environments.

Throughout her career, Marta has developed individualized behavior intervention plans that promote communication, independence, and functional skill development for individuals with developmental disabilities. She conducts comprehensive behavioral assessments, including VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, and functional behavior assessments, and collaborates closely with educators, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to translate clinical recommendations into practical, classroom-ready strategies. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my parents First, definitely. My I do believe I inherited my dad's work ethic And the other thing is, obviously, for my children I want them to see that I can pursue a goal and be an example for them You know, that you can forge your own path, and its hard, and theres so many obstacles in the way, but you don't stop. my husband has always been my biggest supporter I would hands down say that if Ive done the things that Ive done in my adult life, its definitely been thanks to the support Of my husband.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't look back not even to gain momentum to move forward.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always keep learning, think about what best what your client, your child needs most. mentorship Definitely look for mentors. We do a lot of studying as far as cases, so stay up to date. You know, never stop learning. I think that's the best career advice I can give anybody.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

It's both a challenge and it could be an opportunity. It's finding a way Finding a way better serve our community of special needs kids And education in education, and in communication And in self-advocacy.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I'll say for family Honesty, and Compassion. And for work, for right now, I'm gonna put in honesty as well I'm gonna throw in compassion as well.
