Martha Serrano is the Chief Executive Officer of Buserza LLC and serves as a Grow Partner in Glendale, Arizona, where she empowers entrepreneurs to launch, grow, and scale their businesses through strategic planning and the practical application of artificial intelligence. With more than 15 years of professional experience in business development and economic empowerment, she works with startups and established businesses across a wide range of industries, helping them transform ideas into sustainable, successful enterprises. Her expertise spans business strategy, project management, operational planning, financial analysis, and entrepreneurial coaching.
Prior to establishing her businesses in the United States, Serrano served as an Economic Development Director for the government in Mexico, where she guided aspiring entrepreneurs in developing business portfolios, defining vision and mission statements, creating financial projections, and building comprehensive business plans. Through her LLC, Isbouserta, she continues this mission by assisting clients with budgeting, business viability assessments, licensing requirements, tax navigation, and operational planning, enabling them to confidently become business owners. In addition to her entrepreneurial expertise, she holds a life insurance license, further expanding her ability to advise clients on financial preparedness and long-term planning.
Serrano earned a bachelor's degree from Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) in Mexico, providing the educational foundation for her leadership in business and entrepreneurship. She is an active member of professional organizations including Coparemex, Junior Achievement, and Starring Youth Academy, reflecting her commitment to fostering economic growth and developing future business leaders. Dedicated to both professional excellence and community service, she also volunteers as a catechist at her church. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to genuinely caring about the people around me and investing in their growth and success. I believe that when you lead with empathy, support others without judgment, and help them reach their full potential, meaningful relationships and lasting opportunities naturally follow. For me, success is not measured solely by personal achievements but by the positive impact I make in the lives of others. When people are valued, encouraged, and empowered, success becomes a natural outcome for everyone involved.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to always come prepared with multiple solutions. A former boss taught me that whenever I was asked to solve a problem or make a recommendation, I should never present just one answer. Instead, I should thoughtfully evaluate the situation and offer several well-considered options, each with its own advantages and potential outcomes. That advice has shaped the way I approach leadership and decision-making, enabling me to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and provide informed solutions that create the best possible results.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to pursue your dreams with confidence and determination. Believe that anything is possible when you remain focused on your goals, take initiative, and create opportunities instead of waiting for them to appear. Success comes from consistent effort, resilience, and a willingness to keep moving forward despite challenges. Stay committed to your vision, continue learning, and trust in your ability to make a meaningful impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is overcoming skepticism and misconceptions about artificial intelligence. Many people are hesitant to embrace AI because they do not fully understand its potential or have been exposed to misinformation. At the same time, the rise of individuals who misuse AI or make unrealistic promises has created distrust and made it more difficult for ethical professionals to build credibility. Despite these challenges, I see tremendous opportunity to educate entrepreneurs, demonstrate the responsible use of AI, and help businesses leverage technology in ways that are transparent, practical, and genuinely beneficial to their long-term success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me in both my professional and personal life are truth, compassion, integrity, and respect for others. I believe in being genuine and ensuring that my thoughts, words, and actions are always aligned. I strive to treat every person with kindness, empathy, and dignity, without passing judgment, because I believe everyone deserves understanding and the opportunity to grow. These principles guide the way I lead, build relationships, and serve others, both in business and in my community.
