About Martha
Experienced bilingual family liaison and educational support professional with over 25 years of continuous service in school-based interpretation, translation, and student-family engagement. Currently serving as Spanish Interpreter / Family Liaison at the Morgan County School District Re-3, providing essential communication support between Spanish-speaking families and school administrators, teachers, and support staff.
Responsible for interpreting and translating academic, administrative, and community communications while supporting student success through culturally responsive family engagement. Plays a key role in strengthening school–home relationships, improving access to educational resources, and facilitating effective communication during meetings, events, and academic planning.
Educated with an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources from Universidad Americana del Noreste, contributing additional understanding of organizational systems and people management.
Recognized for exceptional communication skills, cultural competency, and long-term dedication to supporting diverse student populations and families, with a strong commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and educational equity.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success primarily to my education, along with my dedication, consistency, empathy, and a strong commitment to both personal and professional growth. I strive to be suitable support within the school community and beyond. I have been able to inspire my students and parents to foster a positive a positive learning environment and contribute to the overall success of the school
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Since i was child, my Grandfather told me , Whatever you do, you must do it very well. And in my professional life, another key piece of advice came from mentor who told me, Never stop leaning and adapting. Both pieces of advice guide me to pursue excellence in every step I take.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to a young woman entering my industry is to do everithing to the best of your ability and put your heart into it, because when you give your all, your passin will set you apart and guide you to success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The greatest challenge of opportunity in my field right now is to integrate diverse cultures wile still respecting their beliefs, and guiding them to understand thar, in the country they go to, they must respect its laws and customs.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The first and most important thing for me is the respect that every single person deserves. Furthermore, integrity and empathy are values that guide every decision I make, both in my work and in my personal life.
