Her Interview

Ten minutes with Martha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. I believe in overcoming obstacles, learning from my mistakes, and using every experience as an opportunity to grow and become better.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was to be clear and direct in my communication. A mentor taught me that answers should come immediately after the questions they address, and I have applied that principle throughout my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be resilient, stay persistent, and actively seek out a mentor. Having guidance from someone with experience can help you grow, navigate challenges, and build confidence throughout your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As a sole practitioner, one of my biggest challenges is managing the marketing and business development side while handling all aspects of my practice. Earlier in my career, I had the support of assistants and paralegals, but now I have the opportunity to grow by taking on these responsibilities myself and building my business in new ways. I'm a strong supporter of using AI to streamline all aspects of my practice.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, integrity, and making a meaningful contribution. I strive to uphold these principles in my work and personal life by building trust, acting with purpose, and positively impacting those around me.
