About Martha
She is a distinguished immunologist and educator with over three decades of experience as a professor at UC Santa Cruz. Her expertise spans immunology, cell biology, health sciences education, and undergraduate research mentorship. Prior to joining UC Santa Cruz, she served as an assistant professor at The University of Texas at Austin and conducted immunology research as a research associate at the California Institute of Technology. She earned her M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Yale University after completing a bachelor's degree in Zoology at The University of Texas at Austin.
