Her Interview
Ten minutes with Martiel
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being relentlessly optimistic and deeply resilient. I choose to remain positive and determined, even when faced with challenges or setbacks, because resilience is what allows me to keep moving forward, adapt, and grow. I refuse to give up, and I believe that persistence, optimism, and the willingness to keep going are essential to achieving lasting success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “If the price you set doesn’t make you uncomfortable, it’s too low,” which taught me to recognize and confidently communicate my value. I also believe in the principle of being curious rather than judgmental. When I approach people and situations with genuine curiosity and ask thoughtful questions to learn more, I gain greater understanding, build stronger relationships, and often discover perspectives and opportunities I might otherwise have missed.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to embrace change and remain curious about what comes next. What you understand today will inevitably evolve, so don’t be afraid of change; instead, view it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and adapt. Focus on where you want to go rather than becoming overly concerned with exactly how you will get there. The ability to remain flexible, curious, and open to new possibilities is essential to building a successful and lasting career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I’m facing right now is raising capital and connecting with the right investors to support continued growth. I am currently in the process of an investor raise, which has been both challenging and an important opportunity to build strategic relationships, communicate my vision, and secure the resources needed to move the business forward.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are adaptability and curiosity. I believe life and careers are constantly evolving, and being curious about change allows me to understand it rather than fear it. Staying open to learning, embracing new perspectives, and adapting to changing circumstances are essential to continued growth and success.
