Her Story
About Martina
Martina White is an elected public servant representing Pennsylvania’s 170th Legislative District, which includes communities in Northeast Philadelphia such as Parkwood, Somerton, Millbrook, Morrell, and Chalfont. She has served as a State Representative since 2015, focusing her legislative efforts on addressing community needs, improving public services, and delivering results for her constituents. Her work has centered on education funding, school choice, public safety initiatives, support for seniors, and strengthening opportunities for Pennsylvania families.
Before entering public office, Martina built a career in financial services as a Financial Services Representative with Independence Wealth Strategies, an office of MetLife. In this role, she helped individuals, families, and business owners develop strategies for wealth accumulation, financial security, and long-term planning. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Elizabethtown College in 2010, and her experiences during the Great Recession influenced her decision to pursue public service and expand her ability to help people at the community and state levels.
Throughout her legislative career, Martina has taken on several leadership and civic roles, including serving as Secretary of the House Republican Caucus, participating on the Rules Committee and Committee on Committees, and contributing as a board member of SEPTA. She has also chaired initiatives related to transportation infrastructure and energy policy, including the Liquid Natural Gas Task Force. Known for her advocacy on education reform, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and community investment, Martina remains committed to promoting policies that support families, businesses, and the future growth of Pennsylvania.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to celebrate the small wins, trust that bigger achievements will follow, continue learning and growing, and always stand confidently in my worth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to embrace who they are, stay true to their unique strengths, and pursue their goals with confidence. Your best life is possible when you have the courage to go after it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field is continuing to address the needs of our community and delivering meaningful results each day through dedicated service and impactful work.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are kindness, respect, continuous learning, and bringing positivity to others. I believe in making a difference every day through personal growth, education, and meaningful connections.
