Her Interview
Ten minutes with Martine
01What do you attribute your success to?
My kids have been my passion. I'm the only one of my siblings that actually has gone back to school and got a degree. The success that I have has been just influenced by wanting to give my children better than what I had, and what I experienced.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To be me. Do it my way. Once I was able to sit back and just be Martin, that's when the success came. Just be me. I would do it, and not try to do it how other people are doing it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
They could do and achieve anything that they set their mind to.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The market of recruiting phlebotomists is very challenging. We have a lot of openings, and some markets are really difficult. When you don't have the labor to support your clients, the reputation suffers. It's a challenge not just in our industry but hospitals, blood banks, just healthcare in general.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. Paying it forward. Show up well. Be your authentic self. Building diverse teams.
