Marva DuPree-Burr is a dedicated and results-oriented Community Relations and Outreach Coordinator at ACCEPT Organization, where she builds and sustains strategic partnerships with businesses and agencies across Nevada to advance impactful community outreach initiatives. She is known for delivering engaging presentations, fostering collaborative relationships, and increasing client referrals while strengthening community awareness. Her work is grounded in advocacy, service, and a commitment to creating meaningful, people-centered impact.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Business Administration in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Marva is currently working on her Doctorate in Human Services with a concentration in Community Counseling and Traumatology at Liberty University, further strengthening her expertise in trauma-informed leadership and community-based solutions. In addition to her academic and professional work, she is the author of Spilling the Tea: My Journey to Freedom, launched in June 2024, and is currently writing her second book, Leading Through Love, scheduled for release in June 2026.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marva serves as Executive Pastor at Grace Tabernacle Church of God in Christ and as an instructor with the Global Leadership Training Institute. She is married and the proud mother of three children, and she values faith, family, and personal growth. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, reading novels, going to the movies, and creating meaningful moments with her family. Guided by integrity, compassion, and lifelong learning, Marva continues to lead with purpose while empowering individuals and strengthening the communities she serves.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the trauma I have endured and the life experiences that tested and shaped me. Those challenges strengthened my resilience, deepened my self-awareness, and fueled my determination to grow beyond circumstances that could have limited me. Each obstacle became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and develop the perseverance and discipline that continue to guide my personal and professional achievements.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to intentionally develop meaningful relationships, stay true to who I am, and lead with authenticity by introducing my heart into every connection I make.

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to remain true to who you are, lead with your heart, and stay deeply passionate about the people you serve. Authenticity, compassion, and purpose-driven work will not only set you apart, but also sustain you as you grow and lead with impact.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field right now is securing sustainable funding, which also presents a significant opportunity. Access to adequate funding can limit growth and innovation, but when addressed strategically, it enables expansion, strengthens impact, and allows organizations to better serve their communities and fulfill their mission.

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith in God, commitment to family, genuine care for people, and a dedication to education and lifelong learning. These values guide my decisions, shape my leadership, and ground me in purpose, integrity, and service.
