Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the life I’ve lived and the legacy I’m creating—starting from babysitting neighborhood kids, traveling and working in Africa and Europe for years, serving in Iraq during a warzone, and caring for my mom and family, to now launching a family empowerment movement.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that you can do anything you put your mind to, which I’ve embraced through writing books—including my own life story—and producing my TV show, Our Global Family, now entering its second season.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in your ability to achieve greatness, just as I have, including being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for 9,000 hours of service by the President of the United States.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge right now is balancing my new consulting business, writing my memoir, speaking at caregiver engagements, and preparing for season two of my show Our Global Family—there never seem to be enough hours in the day!

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are dedication, compassion, and a genuine love for helping others, which I express through my work and in writing two books honoring my mother’s life and her journey beyond.
