Mary Lane
Mary Lane is the owner of Perfected Everything, a business etiquette coaching practice she launched in 2019. She helps individuals and entrepreneurs develop professional presentation, interpersonal skills, and personal branding. In addition to one-on-one coaching, Mary creates workshops, participates in panel discussions, and fosters community partnerships to share her expertise locally. She is also currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at Georgia State University, further expanding her knowledge and professional development.
Mary brings a diverse career background to her coaching. She served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1991, an experience that shaped her character and confidence. She later spent over a decade as a real estate agent in Atlanta, honing her people skills, and taught in local schools, strengthening her ability to mentor and communicate effectively. Mary is also a published author; her book, The Echo of Decisions: My Military Path to Who I Am, reflects on her journey and the lessons that inform her coaching philosophy.
Outside of her professional work, Mary enjoys sewing, swimming, and cooking. She is actively involved in charitable efforts, including supporting the Silver Sisters Society and initiatives that help the homeless and children in her community. Through her coaching, mentorship, and community engagement, Mary Lane empowers others to present their best selves, build meaningful connections, and achieve personal and professional success.

What do you attribute your success to?
My faith in God and my mother's encouragement. The stages of life where each career move built upon each other to define who I want to become and who I am today. Hard work consistency, dedication to each craft and discipline proves to be the common elements in the pursuit of my purpose.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
'Just do it, have faith in God and yourself knowing that you are a winner” as my mother said. Her words still ring in my ears today.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do your research; know your why; develop people skills; learn what clients want. Perfect your craft so you can stand out as one of the best. Also, understand that success doesn’t happen overnight so stay true to your purpose. Stay away from negativity and encourage yourself, always support your ideas or products.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenge: entering a market without doing research and discovering there's so many doing the same thing or there is not a need for your idea unless you can do that thing differently. Opportunity: building visibility and networks through panels, community partnerships (e.g., libraries) and digital platforms.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, servant leadership, community service, confidence and encouragement.
