Her Interview
Ten minutes with Mary
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success not only to hard work, but also to collaboration, consistency, and the commitment to make that work visible. We often hear that our work will speak for itself, but I have learned that sometimes we must also be willing to speak for our work. Visibility is not simply about self-promotion; it is about building meaningful relationships, collaborating openly, sharing ideas, and helping others understand the impact of what we contribute. I remind myself to step forward, strengthen my network, and communicate my accomplishments with confidence—because meaningful work deserves both recognition and a voice
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
“Never become so comfortable in your role that you stop growing. Comfort may feel rewarding, but meaningful progress begins when we challenge ourselves to go above and beyond, learn new skills, embrace unfamiliar opportunities, and adapt confidently to change. Continue putting yourself forward, remain curious, and be willing to step outside what you already know—because lasting success belongs to those who never stop evolving.”
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
When you want to pursue something meaningful in life, begin by defining your purpose: Who will this help, and what positive difference can it create
The definition of purpose is not actually what you do, but what happens in others when you do what you do. So no matter if it's in your professional life or personal life, no matter what we are doing, how are we impacting others?
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
“One of the greatest challenges—and opportunities—in my field and across nearly every profession today is the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. It is natural to feel uncertain about how AI may change our roles, but I believe the bigger risk is not AI itself; it is resisting change and allowing our skills to remain static.
The best way to overcome this challenge is to stay curious, continuously learn, and understand how to use emerging technology responsibly to improve the quality and efficiency of our work. At the same time, we must continue developing the qualities technology cannot easily replace: sound judgment, creativity, empathy, communication, collaboration, and a deep understanding of people and business ne
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Creating an impact at work and applied knowledge are the most important values to me in my work and personal life. Knowledge is power, but applied knowledge is power. So always, whatever you learn in your life, put them into practice.
