Mary Schenck

Long-serving University of Tampa professor (1976–2014) with extensive teaching and academic leadership experience. Held administrative roles including Assistant Provost, Division Chair, and Director of First Year Writing, overseeing adjunct hiring, scheduling, budgets, and accreditation reporting. Taught and designed courses spanning first-year writing through senior seminars, with subject expertise in ancient (Mesopotamian, Greek, Roman), medieval and modern European literature, and African literature (especially South African), plus literary theory and interdisciplinary curriculum design. Completed Fulbright scholarships at the University of Stellenbosch (1997) and Université de Benin (1989–1990).
