Her Story
About Mary
Mary Martha brings 45 years of experience in the banking industry to her role at Wells Fargo. She began her career as a teller after college and progressed through numerous positions, including leading branch administration, sales, service, business development, client relationships, operations, compliance, marketing, special events, public relations, and corporate communications in community and regional banks across Texas and California. After joining Wells Fargo, she shifted to leading a quality assurance and operational risk team and now oversees all audits and testing engagements for compliance across the organization. She has a strong track record of leading teams effectively through change, particularly during mergers and acquisitions such as the acquisition of Ventura County National Bank by City National Bank, which earned her the Employee of the Year recognition as a new employee. Today her expertise centers on risk management and compliance, with an emphasis on building relationships among compliance partners, business units, audit teams, and external stakeholders. Based in McKinney, Texas, she also dedicates time to philanthropic initiatives including Peggy's Porch, a local community clothes closet created in her mother's memory, and Cottonwood Creek Church in nearby Allen, Texas.
