Ten minutes with Maryam
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience—starting early, staying persistent through setbacks, and preparing while I’m still in the process. I believe in starting with curiosity, even when I don’t feel ready, trusting the process, and understanding that waiting for a perfect launch often means launching too late.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that I can change direction without losing sight of my purpose. Sometimes, trusting my instincts means adapting my path, but the key is to keep moving forward and never stop pursuing what matters to me.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to create their own space, trust their decisions, and never let self-doubt hold them back. Be prepared, believe in yourself, and once you make a decision, move forward with confidence instead of second-guessing yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is adapting to the rapid pace of AI, which can be both exciting and intimidating. At the same time, I see a tremendous opportunity in embracing change, staying open to innovation, and investing in AI to remain competitive and forward-thinking.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are strong work ethics, discretion, and loyalty. I believe a strong work ethic shapes how far you can go, while in my personal life, I value privacy, meaningful relationships, and being someone my friends can rely on. I believe in solving problems, supporting others, and building a trusted circle of people who can be there for one another when needed.
