About Maryanne
I am a nurse educator and maternal-child health specialist with a long-standing commitment to advancing nursing practice through education, mentorship, and ethical leadership.
For more than two decades, I served as an Associate Professor in the graduate nursing program at Aurora University, teaching courses in Healthcare Ethics, Nursing Research, Curriculum Development, and Leadership and Professional Role Development. My passion has always been supporting graduate nursing students as they develop the knowledge, professionalism, and leadership skills needed to strengthen healthcare systems.
Earlier in my clinical career, I worked as a Clinical Specialist and Staff RN at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, where I supported nursing teams across obstetrics, postpartum, and pediatric units. I also worked as a home care nurse providing clinical assessments, lactation support, and education for families with newborns shortly after hospital discharge.
I hold a PhD in Maternal-Child Nursing from Rush University College of Nursing and completed a Certificate in Healthcare Ethics at Rush University School of Health Sciences.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by a dedication to patient-centered care, nursing education, and supporting the professional growth of nurses and healthcare professionals.
