Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my resilience and determination to create a better life for myself and my children. Having once experienced homelessness while raising three kids, I learned the true meaning of perseverance and faith. Through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering belief in my purpose, I was able to rebuild my life, become a first-time homeowner, and establish a meaningful career. Every milestone I achieve reminds me of how far I’ve come and fuels my commitment to continue growing, inspiring others to never give up—no matter their circumstances.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that you can’t control what happens to you, but you can control how you respond. This perspective has guided me through both challenges and successes, reminding me that resilience, adaptability, and a positive mindset are far more powerful than any setback. By focusing on my reactions rather than the circumstances, I’ve learned to turn obstacles into opportunities and continue moving forward with purpose and strength.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to always remember that there’s endless room for growth—personally and professionally. Strive to be the best version of yourself every day, and lead with integrity, curiosity, and dedication. Most importantly, be passionate about what you do, because this field requires heart and commitment. If you truly love your work, that passion will shine through and open doors you never imagined possible.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is helping my staff transition from seeing themselves as babysitters to embracing their roles as true educators. This shift requires continuous training, mentorship, and mindset development, as early childhood education is about so much more than supervision—it’s about shaping young minds and laying the foundation for lifelong learning. While it’s challenging, it’s also one of the greatest opportunities, as I get to help my team grow professionally, strengthen their confidence, and elevate the overall quality of care and education we provide to every child.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are passion and joy. I believe that when you approach everything you do with genuine enthusiasm and a joyful heart, it not only enhances your own sense of purpose but also inspires those around you. Passion drives me to give my best every day, while joy reminds me to appreciate the journey, celebrate small victories, and find fulfillment in making a positive impact on others’ lives.
