Her Story

About Maud

I'm the only girl amongst my siblings, and I've always been the helper of the family. Right from college, going into the professional world, I still wanted to help people. I started off as a management consultant with a Big Four company, helping businesses have structure, because every home needs a structure to be able to thrive. I used those learnings in my corporate setting. Moving away from the Big Four, I still wanted to help people, so I set up my own practice that helps small businesses, the minority ones and women-led businesses, to help them gain structure and have vision for the future. In the next 5 years, I'm not going to entirely shift from what I'm doing. I'll still be helping businesses, I'll still be helping individuals, I'll still be supporting women, because I believe the future is going to be women-dominated. We're supporting each other hand in hand, and walking them up to higher heights, and being examples to upcoming women is my goal, is my priority. I currently do some mentorship on the side, and organize webinars to help upcoming women and other individuals in general, so that they know that where you are now is not where you're supposed to be. There's more that you can be, there's more that you can do, and the world is big enough for all of us to be. I'm just holding people along, pulling them to the top.

Ten minutes with Maud

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to take this step. You fail when you don't even try. This world, yes, it's male-dominated, but women make a difference. Women have a unique touch they bring to everything they do. So, know your value. And know that you're a difference maker.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity. I cannot overemphasize integrity. It's not about just doing the right thing. You have to embody that. When people see you outside, there's one thing that they should identify about you, and that is that you don't compromise your standards. That's what I've always strived to maintain. My yeses are yes, and what I'm saying is what it is. I would not want to compromise these days. I mean, it doesn't really end well when you do that. Just uphold integrity.
