Maureen’s career in television spans over 25 years, including a decade as a reporter and 15 years in morning-show production for major NBC and CBS affiliates. What do you attribute your success to?
She attributes her success to the love that he has for journalism and in the ability to tell stories and work with people and help them to tell their stories. She loves being able to tell happy stories as there is nothing better than a happy ending to a story.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I can—and I will—make a difference while living out my dream. It reminds me to stay confident, take initiative, and pursue work that truly matters.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t ignore warning signs (especially about health); ask questions and seek clarity; if you’re passionate about something, don’t delay pursuing it.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is not only sharing the stories of others but also sharing my own. As a stage 3 colon cancer survivor, I am passionate about raising awareness and promoting prevention, using my platform to educate and inspire others while continuing to tell impactful stories through media.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my professional and personal life, I value the opportunity to use my talents to help the media uncover, share, and amplify remarkable stories, ensuring that voices and experiences that deserve attention are seen and heard.
