About Maurizia
I am a supply chain and logistics executive with over two decades of experience in international humanitarian operations, crisis response, and strategic planning, currently serving as Director of Supply Chain Logistics at the United Nations, a role I have held since February 2024, where I lead transformative logistics initiatives to enhance operational capabilities in complex environments. I have established bilateral agreements with Member States for rapid crisis response, enhanced UN responsiveness through regional hubs and readiness tools, developed digital logistics platforms to streamline service requests, directed the planning and deployment of temporary operating bases in conflict-affected regions, and launched a transformative initiative to optimize and standardize lifesaving medical modules for emergency deployment in field missions.
Prior to this role, I served as Officer-in-Charge Director and Chief Sourcing Support Services Office in Supply Chain Management for over four years, where I established and led the OSCM COVID-19 taskforce, centralized provision of healthcare solutions, and enabled OSCM response to crises in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Sudan, and other regions. I served as Chief Supply Chain Planning Service for over a year, and as Senior Administrative and Support Officer for over six years, providing strategic and operational planning and senior advisory support to Headquarters and field missions.
Earlier in my career, I served in progressively responsible roles including Chief of Unit for Policy and Planning, Chief of Unit for UN Strategic Deployment Capability, Property Management Officer, and Chief Property Control and Inventory at UN Peacekeeping Operations, where I established performance management frameworks, achieved black belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, and contributed to the effective adoption of IPSAS Accounting Standards across the UN Secretariat. I also served as Application Support Engineer at the UN International Computing Centre, where I rolled out Supply Chain Inventory Management systems in six field missions, and as Senior Consultant at Accenture.
I hold a Master of Science in Engineering from MIP Politecnico di Milano and completed the Senior Mission Administrative and Resource Training Programme in Finance and Operational Support Planning and Management.
Across my career in supply chain, logistics, and humanitarian operations, my work has been driven by a commitment to delivering efficient, effective, and accountable support to UN missions and partner organizations in some of the world's most challenging environments. Whether I am leading crisis response logistics, establishing strategic partnerships, or developing innovative supply chain solutions, I bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a dedication to advancing the UN's mission of peace, security, and sustainable development. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue contributing to the UN's critical work in supply chain logistics.
