Earlier in her career she worked in event production in Cleveland, Ohio where she became vice president of event production for a company handling large-scale events including those for the Cleveland Clinic and the Rock Hall of Fame. She attended Chatham College for four years but did not complete a degree, choosing instead to marry and start a family.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

It's really important to work with a mentor and people who sponsor you. Having a good mentor is critical because they help you understand the roles and what you need to learn to get to the next stage. Having a sponsor is also key - those are the people that see the value that you bring to the table and advocate for you when you're not in the room.
