About Mavis
I work in product design, a multidisciplinary field where I need to understand business goals, product mindsets, technical constraints, and user behavior. My work involves thinking about user experience and how users will interact with platforms, whether on digital platforms, physical products, or actual environments. This field requires having business knowledge, understanding the psychology side of how users behave, and knowing how to implement experiences into the real world. I earned my master's degree at University of Washington in 2024, in a program that combines computer science and design, specializing in UX design and product design. I also co-host a podcast with two other friends where we specialize in human-computer interactions, discussing how professors do research in HCI fields in academia and how UX designers in big tech companies design better experiences for users around the world. Looking ahead, I see myself as a product shaper within the next five years. For me, design right now is not just about making things pretty, it's more about how to make concepts into reality and how people will use them. That whole experience is what I want to do in the future.
