About Mayra
Mayra Mollo is a public health professional with experience dating back to 2009. She joined the Arizona Department of Health Services in January 2022 as STD/HIV Coordinator, where she manages HIV in Arizona. In this role she delivers quality assurance and technical assistance to investigators throughout the state, helps with difficult cases and reporting, collaborates on outbreaks, and trains others to build capacity among Arizona's investigators. Earlier in her career she performed direct client work that included maintaining task lists, following up with clients, locating individuals through door-to-door efforts, informing them of their status, and identifying partners. She holds associate degrees in general education and communication and has completed training in motivational interviewing, leadership, and infectious diseases. Mayra attributes her success to a desire to help people and to serve as a stepping stone for others who face challenges.

Lead with kindness, work on communication, have courage and believe in yourself because the scariest things bring the biggest blessings.
