Her Interview

Ten minutes with Meagan

01What do you attribute your success to?

God. Without him, I don't know where any of us would be.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't ever stop continuing your education, even if that means doing side classes at the local community college, because those certifications can help increase and bring in more money.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Sometimes you just have to pretend like you know, sometimes you put co-workers or people that have a lot of money on a pedestal, you just have to remind yourself that they are human beings, and they all had to start out somewhere too. And you just have to go for it. Like, you can't be afraid, like, you can't live in fear. You really just can't live in fear. You have to just go for it. Because I promise you, once you actually get outside of your box of fear, and you get to the opposite side, it's an amazing feeling. It's scary, but oh, so liberating.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Loans right now are a little bit slow, so just keeping busy when we don't have payments. Like, going through documents, and actually filing them, and scanning them, and putting them all, like, making them as orderly as possible from the analysts that had gone through it. So, just finding things to do sometimes.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Freedom, honestly. Freedom to kind of not be managed. I mean, as long as I'm trained, then after that, I feel like once I'm trained, I feel like I'm just want the freedom to be able to do what I need to do, and not be micromanaged.
